Message in a bottle
The two square symbols are QR codes. To read them, a QR code reader on a smartphone or tablet is needed. This is available for free from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
Wooden box
To open the small wooden box, you need to use a trick. Grasp the corners of the box's edge with your thumb and index finger and pull an inner secret drawer out of the box lengthways.

In the video, you get a hint as to where to shine the blacklight lamp and find a number.

Using the clue, you get the order: Flags, Sails, Cannons, Parrots. Counting these in the image gives you the code for a four-digit combination lock.

When you open the image on your smartphone, computer or tablet and then hold the small image at the correct size against the display, you will get a three-digit code for a combination lock.
