Where do we actually get the props for our escape rooms?

This is a question we're often asked. Many visitors wonder how detailed and authentic our rooms are furnished. Behind this is actually a lot of work, research - and sometimes a bit of luck.

A large part of our furniture and props comes from Classifieds and Flea markets. There, we often find exactly those special pieces that give a room character. Old desks, unusual lamps, suitcases, cabinets, or small decorative objects – much of it already has a story and fits perfectly into a themed play.

We also regularly receive tips and offers from our circle of friends and acquaintances. „I still have an old cabinet in the cellar, would that be any use to you?“ We are always very pleased to receive messages like this. Sometimes real treasures are hidden away in cellars or attics, which later become part of an escape room.

When making our selection, we pay very close attention to ensuring everything fits the setting of the respective room. Not every cabinet fits every scenario. A Victorian secretary desk looks great in a historical setting, but would be completely out of place in a futuristic room. The furnishings contribute significantly to allowing players to truly immerse themselves in another world.

As well as aesthetics, stability also plays an important role. Our rooms are used daily by many groups – sometimes even entire School classes in the Escape Room. The furniture and props must therefore be robust enough to withstand many years of intensive use.

At the same time, the atmosphere is supposed to be right. If someone, for example, a Marriage proposal in an escape room When you want to have a moment like this, you naturally don't want to experience it amongst a jumble of discarded furniture. Stylish, authentic furnishings ensure that such special moments take place in a truly impressive setting.

This is precisely where the importance of details becomes evident. A coherent and lovingly designed environment supports immersion – that is, the feeling of being completely engrossed in the story. The more authentic the setting feels, the easier it is for players to forget reality for an hour and become part of the adventure.

That's why we invest a lot of time in finding the right props. Sometimes we find the perfect piece immediately – sometimes it takes months. But it is precisely this mix of patience, creativity, and passion that ultimately makes the difference between a normal room and an escape room that is truly memorable.
